What's the climate like Las Vegas?

The city of Vegas has what is described as a "subtropical hot desert" climate because the city lies within the "Mojave Desert." Vegas experience a long and very hot summer, warm seasons before a short and chilly winters. Sunshine is abundant all year round.

Vegas experiences 310 sunny days on the average. Sunshine occurs almost 86% during the daylight hours of every day. Rainfall in Las Vegas is scarce. You can count as 26 or 27 days of rainfall every year. The city is among those places that experience more sun, dryness and less humidity in North America.

The summer in Vegas is very hot and the month of July is always the hottest in the City. Winter comes with the mild weather, but sunshine is also abundant. However, the month of December is the cloudiest and coolest in Vegas so if you are not going to the end of the year, prepare yourself for the sunny days in Vegas.

When to go to Las Vegas

If you want to enjoy your trip to Las Vegas, plan to visit around March, April, and May. The next best season is during September October and November. These are the months, but throughout the year, you will still have many travel deals.

However, you will enjoy a moderate weather in Vegas during the spring and the fall. Many people visit during the winter to spend their new year. Most importantly, make sure that your trip falls within the mid-week so that you can get beautiful rooms at lower rates. Also before you go, check the convention schedule so that you will know the hotels that are occupied with hosting conventions so that you can get better deals elsewhere.

How to get there

There are three airports in Las Vegas. "The McCarran International Airport," "Henderson Executive Airport" and "North Las Vegas Airport." The McCarran airport is an international airport which has two terminals for passengers. Terminal 1 & 2 and each terminal services specific countries from all over the world. The second is for private purposes, air taxi or charter. The third airport which is the Henderson is for Tour operations.

As you land at the McCarran Airport, you can take the RTC bus into the city for a few dollars. The bus line offers a 24-hour service, and it is very easy and affordable. If you don't want to take the bus, you can rent a limo or Taxis which are available at the airport.

However, if your direct stop is the Strip, it will be very easy to get there because the international airport is across Mandalay Bay and many of the hotels provide shuttle services which can pick you from the airport. You can also rent a car as you land but we advise against it due to the heavy traffic and parking cost in the Strip.
